Your Dream Barn Wedding Space!

Shelby, Michigan

Heritage Wedding Barns is the dream of a great team. Sam and Jennifer Stitt, who are high school sweethearts and best friends. We took our gifts and skills with a lot of hard work and created a venue where couples can begin their own legacy and establish their own heritage while sharing the experience in a barn that not only has rustic charm but the comfort of modern amenities.

We are located on 27 acres in picturesque Oceana County just minutes from Little Point Sable Lighthouse and the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Our venue is at 813 S 32nd Ave, Shelby MI 49455.

We decided to turn our barn into a wedding venue after hosting a graduation open house in our Patriot barn for our son Samuel. We enjoyed the experience and wanted to share that same joy with others.

Our barn is absolutely full of history and the reason we are named Heritage Wedding Barns. The heritage is in the land on which the barn is now built. Passed down for generations in Jennifer’s family since the 1920’s. The heritage is also in the barn itself. Sam’s family has worked on timber frame barns for 4 generations. The original barn was built in 1892 in Rothbury MI. In 2013 we dismantled the aging barn piece by piece and moved it to it’s current location. We reassembled the historic structure and decided in 2017 to turn it into a wedding venue. We have used Michigan white pine for the siding, floor and roof boards. Reclaimed Pentwater brick from an old country church and a building in Hart dating back to the late 1890’s. We have reclaimed corrugated metal accenting the ceiling of the lower level of the barn. This metal was saved over the years from barns we worked on across the state of Michigan. Our 28’ bar serving area is made from old wooden rafters from a barn in Springport MI. The materials we have used in crafting our wedding venue are not only historic but beautifully created to accent our 1892 structure making it a one of a kind venue.

Couples can have both their ceremony and reception at Heritage Wedding Barns. We have a couple different options including on our beautifully landscaped patio or under our enchanting weeping willow tree. Couples can also have their ceremony inside our timber frame barn.

Heritage Wedding Barns offers tables and chairs for 300 guest, custom farm and cocktail tables, custom made bar stools and whiskey barrels. We have large indoor bathrooms, beautiful bridal suite and groom’s room and a spacious warming kitchen. We provide set up for your venue and optional ceremony sites for no additional cost.

Heritage Wedding Barns is a unique venue in that we are truly a historic 1892 timber frame barn but we have built our venue with weddings in mind and added all the modern amenities. The flow of people in, around and through our barn gives our guest space, comfort and enjoyment. We have 7 large sliding doors that open up for the breezes off Lake Michigan and access onto our spacious patios and 27 acres. Our barn has A/C in the bridal suite, groom’s room, men’s and women’s bathrooms making our guest comfortable no matter the temperature. Our barn also has ceiling mounted fans on both levels to circulate air. Our lower level has in floor heat that can be turned on to give warmth to early spring, late fall or even a smaller winter venue. Heritage Wedding Barns is also fully ADA accessible with our parking, bathrooms, doorways and ramp all designed to accommodate every guest. Our 28’ bar serving area is made from reclaimed wooden rafters and gives our guest easy access and great flow to our 50’x80’ patio.
